These scholarships support master's studies at Portuguese higher education institutions for nationals of Portuguese-speaking African countries—Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe—in the fields of exact sciences (mathematics, physics, and chemistry) and health sciences (clinical medicine).

**Dates**

March 11, 2024 - May 31, 2024


**Eligibility Conditions**

- Master’s candidates (applications for integrated master's programs will not be considered) with permanent residence in their country of origin.

- Bachelor’s degree from a university in the applicant’s country of origin with an average of at least 15 out of 20.

- Maximum age for application: 30 years (born in 1994 or later).


**Scholarship Conditions**

The scholarship duration is up to a maximum of 24 months, renewable for the study period stipulated in the study plan, within the time limit of the scholarship (Article 2 of the Regulation).


**Scholarship Amounts**

- Monthly allowance of €1,110.

- One-time payment of €1,050 for first-year installation expenses.

- Up to €4,000 in tuition fees, paid in two installments.

- One-time travel subsidy between Portugal and the country of origin:

  - Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau: €750

  - Angola, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe: €1,250

- Personal travel accident insurance.

3. Complete all required fields to submit your application, including uploading the necessary documentation specified in the regulation.

4. Avoid submitting your application in the final days of the deadline to prevent potential issues, such as delays in obtaining recommendation letters.

5. The Gulbenkian Foundation guarantees responses up to 2 working days before the application deadline.
