**Eligibility**

- Students who do not hold Portuguese nationality.

- Students who are not covered by the following:


  a. Nationals of a European Union member state;

  b. Family members of Portuguese nationals or nationals of an EU member state, regardless of nationality, as defined by Law No. 37/2006, of August 9;

  c. Those who are not nationals of an EU member state but have legally resided in Portugal continuously for over two years as of January 1 of the year they intend to enter higher education, including their legally residing children (in this case, study residency time does not count);

  d. Those benefiting, as of January 1 of the year they intend to enter higher education, from equal rights and duties status granted under an international treaty between Portugal and their home country;

  e. Those applying for higher education admission through special access schemes regulated by Decree-Law No. 393-A/99, of October 2, amended by Decree-Law No. 272/2009, of October 1;

  f. Foreign students enrolled at the University of Madeira within an international mobility program for part of a study cycle from a foreign higher education institution with which the University of Madeira has an exchange agreement.

- Students with dual nationality, where one nationality is Portuguese or another EU member state, are not eligible for this competition.

**Fees**

Application: €30.00

Appeal: €50.00

Registration Fee: €20.00

The University of Madeira will offer scholarships for courses listed in Annex 1 of the announcement. These scholarships provide a reduction in the annual legal tuition fee for International Students to the amount specified in the annex. Scholarships are available to students from the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and Venezuelan students covered by this competition. Scholarships are awarded in accordance with specific regulations (available in the regulations section on the University of Madeira's website) based on approved applications, at the end of each application phase until funds are exhausted.
