"A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes" is a popular science book written by Professor Stephen Hawking, first published in 1988.

The book explains various cosmology topics, including the Big Bang Theory, black holes, light cones, and String Theory, aimed at a non-specialist reader.

Its main goal is to provide an overview of these topics, but, unusually for a popular science book, it also attempts to explain some complex mathematics. The author warns that any equation could potentially pose a challenge for readers, so he included only one simple equation: E=mc².

The book features an introduction by renowned science communicator Carl Sagan.
