It carries out its activities in two locations in Angola, namely in the province of Luanda, in Viana, and in Benguela. First and foremost, it is crucial to mention that the activities of the Jean Piaget University in Angola are legally supported. The legal basis for its operations is as follows:
The constitution of the Piaget Institute Association of Angola on February 10, 1999, at the 1st Notary Office of the Luanda District, with its statutes published in the Official Gazette, I series, No. 14, on April 5 of the same year;
Approval of Jean Piaget University of Angola through Decree No. 44-A/01, by the Council of Ministers;
The courses offered by Jean Piaget University are approved by the following instructions:
- Executive Decree No. 48/04, dated April 23, by the Minister of Education: the courses of Clinical Psychology and Petroleum Engineering are approved.
- Executive Decree No. 65/04, dated June 22, by the Minister of Education: the courses of Civil Construction and Land Planning; Business Informatics; Law; Economics and Management; and Electromechanics are approved.
- Executive Decree No. 66/04, dated June 22, by the Minister of Education: the courses of Nursing and Pharmaceutical Sciences are approved.
Article 1, paragraph 1 of the statutes of the Piaget Institute Association of Angola clearly establishes that: "The Piaget Institute Association of Angola is a legal entity with legal personality and administrative and financial autonomy. It is of national scope and will last indefinitely."
The AIPA (Piaget Institute Association of Angola) will carry out (and is already carrying out) its activities in Angola, pursuing several goals, among which stand out:
- Educational, scientific, and technical;
- Social solidarity, interaction, and social promotion;
- Environmental protection;
To achieve these goals, the Association aims to create and maintain institutions for higher education and, within this scope, develop educational, social, assistance, research, cultural, and labor structures.
AIPA aims to assume and actively participate in the revival of a new humanism based on two main pillars: creating the "Human House," where, in principle, no human being is left out or prevented from being included, even if it means diversifying ways of being and living. The new "Human House" assumes and requires a new outlook on nature, with nature inside it.
The Piaget Institute Association of Angola has as its founding entity the Piaget Institute of Portugal; the latter, in turn, was founded in 1979 by António de Oliveira Cruz, its president since then.
