Agostinho Neto University (UAN) is a public higher education institution in Angola. According to its Organic Statute (approved by Executive Decree No. 60/01 of October 5), it is a legal entity of public law, endowed with statutory, scientific, pedagogical, administrative, financial, and disciplinary autonomy, aimed at training higher-level professionals in various fields of knowledge.
UAN guarantees the freedom of scientific, cultural, and technological creation, with a focus on respecting and promoting the human person, the community, and the environment. Furthermore, it ensures the plurality of opinions and their free expression, promotes the participation of all university bodies in common academic life, and ensures democratic management methods through the direct election of representatives of various bodies to its governing organs.
Currently, Agostinho Neto University is established in 10 of the country's 18 provinces, with: 7 faculties, 6 Higher Institutes of Education Sciences, 1 Higher Institute of Nursing, and 3 Higher Schools, namely: Faculty of Sciences (Luanda), Faculty of Law (Luanda), Faculty of Economics (Luanda), Faculty of Engineering (Luanda), Faculty of Medicine (Luanda), Higher Institute of Nursing (Luanda), Higher Institute of Education Sciences (Luanda), Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences (Luanda), Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (Huambo), Higher Institute of Education Sciences (Lubango), Higher Institute of Education Sciences (Benguela), Higher Institute of Education Sciences (Huambo), Higher Institute of Education Sciences (Cabinda), Higher Institute of Education Sciences (Uíge), Pedagogical Higher School (Lunda-Norte), School of Science and Technology (Lunda-Sul), School of Science and Technology (Namibe), and the University Pole of Kwanza-Sul (Sumbe).
UAN offers 68 Bachelor's degree programs, 18 Associate degree programs, and 15 Master's degree programs in various scientific fields distributed across its faculties, institutes, and higher schools.
