The Polytechnic Institute of the University Rainha Njinga a Mbande (URNM) was established in 2020 through the merger of the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Malanje and the Higher Polytechnic School of Malanje. This merger was formalized by Presidential Decree no. 285/20, of 29 October, published in the Diário da República. The Polytechnic Institute became one of URNM's three organic units, with scientific, pedagogical and financial autonomy, as established in the Organic Statute approved by Presidential Decree no. 310/21 of December 21. This statute regulates the organization and functioning of the Institute in the fields of teaching, scientific research and the provision of services to the community. To enter the Polytechnic Institute, candidates must pass an entrance exam organized by the institution. They must have completed secondary education in courses assessed for access to training at the Institute. The URNM Polytechnic Institute is dedicated to higher education, research and the provision of services to the community, with the aim of fulfilling its duties within the context of the Reorganization of the Network of Public Higher Education Institutions in Angola.
